SL4's welcomed Marlow L5's to one of the coldest games of the season so far.
With the sun shining and not a cloud in sight, the pitch was looking pretty good for our 4.30pm push back.
The first half of the game was dominated by SL4's, spending the majority of the time in Marlow's half. SL4's looked dangerous with our high press and impressive movement across the pitch.
There were a number of shots on goal, all saved by Marlow's very quick and flexible goalie. A frustrating yet very quick first half.
With half time, we quickly felt the freezing temperatures and ran the risk of having to end the game early. So with a quick 3min break and a few Haribo to get get our energy levels back up, we were back on.
With a freezing pitch the ball was quick and the pace picked up to match it. Marlow came back strong, being very physical and started to use their wings to break away from our players.
SL4's lost concentration for a minute, resulting in Marlow sneaking in a scrappy goal. 0-1 to Marlow.
SL4's came straight back, full force...gave everything they had, looking dangerous once again in the D. Marlow's gk managed to keep the ball out and SL4's lost.
A frustrating game but one which was played well by all of Sonnings players.
We welcomed Emma to her first SL4's game, although nervous at first she was excellent.
Lisa meadows won player of the match and Emma and Linda shared muff.
Well done to all for continuing to play in sub zero temperatures.
